PMET Resources · Mining · Eeyou Istchee James Bay · 2023–2026

A camp, its people, and three years of trust.

A lithium exploration project four hours from the nearest town, run by people most of the market only knows as a ticker. PMET needed a visual record for a rebrand and a website in 2023. What it needed by 2026 was for people to see the camp as a place where real people work.

The instruction we gave ourselves on the first visit still holds: avoid anything that feels like corporate messaging or investor-relations copy.

Client · PMET Resources (formerly Patriot Battery Metals)

Mandate · Site photography, ESG films, documentary series, strategic marketing foundation

Years · 2023 → 2026, repeat site visits every season

Crew · Phil Henderson (strategy, direction, camera, edit)

Languages · Bilingual FR / EN AND CREE, on-site interviews

01 · We thought it.

Ten editorial concepts, prioritized with the comms team, then cut to four the camp could actually host in three days: the reopening after the northern winter, the women of Shaakichiuwaanaan, and a day in the life. Interview guides written in both languages, with the lighter questions first. The rule on the call sheet: the interviews can be rescheduled, real camp moments cannot.

02 · We made it.

Three days on site with a two-person crew. Four documentary segments, a teaser, a bilingual “Humans behind the project” portrait series, and the photography the client uses for signage and social. Every deliverable in 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1.

03 · We launched it.

PMET published the films on its own channels: the camp reopening ahead of schedule, the International Women in Mining Day piece, the day-in-the-life series through the summer. Then the relationship changed shape. In 2026 PMET asked for the plan, not just the proof: a two-phase strategic marketing and brand foundation mandate, built on three years of knowing the people on site.
